Farmall AV

bought this at an auction, motor wouldn't turn. starter was jammed, couple valves were sticky and one cylinder had water in it. auction company didn't cover the exhaust ( it didn't have a muffler or rain cap) couple hours, lots of penetrating oil ( hence the smoke 🤣) and it's alive

hadn't run in years, motor was stuck, tore it down, bunch of new parts and time.
John Deere M

bought this M a few days ago, motor was stuck, got it loose, pulled the pistons, new rings, honed the cylinders. cleaned the head, lapped the valves. First start in years. By the end we had it tuned pretty good

this Lo-boy had a stuck motor, always happy to see one come back to life!
I live in Wisconsin. Just bought a 1944 M. runs . need advice. .
Wow! And every tractor runs great! Did you restore personally?
Have a B but never used the hand crank.
Bellissimo video interessante 🙋♂️🌈💚👍
We never used a tedder. We would let it cure and put into windrows with the rake. I guess the tedder cuts down on the time to cure, but we never had a problem with molding or spoilage.
Really humid in Alabama. Tedding gets it dry a little quicker.
There’s parts of the US where you won’t make hay w/o a Tedder, and places you never see them.
I love sickle mowers, all we had growing up and my brother mowed roadside with a 140 for. 45 years. Thank You
I love watching the grass fall off the backside as it cuts, makes for crooked rows 🤣
@@lovefamily62005 one of my mowers had a hitch on back to pull a hay conditioner or “crimper” behind
Turn that low speed jet out a hair. Choke it and turn it over super slow twice, then no choke fast. Those tractors should start easier than that when they are cold. Thats a sweet tractor.
Nice job fire wood hauling machine thats i use mine for fine little tractors i have a 185 putting a blade on it
all you had to do was point the camera at the dog and pop she fires right up! just try that first next time lol
I’ve buck bails for years back in the old days but we didn’t have a pop up loader then we stacked them in a barn for 10 cents a bail.
sweet
I can't tell but what are you using for a drawbar?
Factory draw bar......
I have a b-414 international that came with a set of those on it. Are they ford original equipment or some aftermarket thing? I'm curious because the rims are kind of shot and I wonder what my options are to get new ones.
These are a Ford product. I've been thinking about buying regular loop rims for my tractor. These power adjust rims would be for sale.......
@@lovefamily62005 that's probably what I'm going to do. I don't need to move the wheels in and out for what I do. I have a couple of farmalls if that ever becomes a need! I just care about having solid wheels that won't tear up tubes. Are you anywhere near central Kentucky?
@@matthewtaylor2185 central alabama
@@lovefamily62005 long drive :)
Every tractor that had these that we bought used ,they were allways rusted and seized!. Good to the system working
Use to see them a lot in Montana
Stay safe everybody Godbless
Amazing
Wow.stay safe Godbless.im your new subscriber.
That 960 is just walking around with those three plows.
Well..... I guess they got it moved to wherever they wanted it!!!
How much PTO hp does that need to run?
That tractor is around 40-45 hp. Handles it fine
Those things look so bloody dangerous
What makes you say that?
@@lovefamily62005 tip right over don't mean it in a bad way cool looking things
@Ian Hotson yep defenetly but ur not taking this tractor on any kind of incline
That was a sketchy unload with the boards and cinder blocks. Looks like something I’d do lol!
Is the that 488?
Yes
@@lovefamily62005 do ya'll like haybine 488 ? Because I am getting same thing ya'll got.
We did! But sold it. Could only get it in one field. All the rest had small gates. Darn thing is 14 ft wide. But it sure cut good
@@lovefamily62005 that awesome thanks you so much give me a tip!! God bless ya'll!
Is this the video you was telling me about ?
Yes
What kind of fender you have on the powermaster ?
Below the axle, you want to pull with the load below the axle when pulling from the rear... you know why, right ? Or you can hook the chain on the front of the tractor, it doesn't matter where you hook it on the front, then pull with the tractor in reverse. And yes, I have moved a shed hooked to the front of my tractor going in reverse
finally somebody who knows how to start one safely!
Hello
That looks like some sticky soil. Keep up the good work saving those cubs.
Rained good that morning, but got the plow hooked up and had to try! We sure enjoy the cubs!
Seeing the rear springs you have way too much weight on the header ! Should be able to lift the header off the ground with one arm..about 20 pounds down pressure . Poor guards and sickle will get beat up !

I love my fords,have 5 so far,purchased them all in a no running condition,they all run now,not all completed yet,first thing,see if you can start them,then ,go from there,I’m retired,so it’s a hobby for me,oh,and implements also.
We have 5 fords also. Love them. Use them for all kinds of work.
@@lovefamily62005 ,good deal!
I have a Pop up bale loader like yours. It is retired now, but it saved a lot of work.
You did not show wedging the bolster to the front axle to avoid rollover.
We didn't show a lot of what we did. 3 hour job. 3 minute video
Beautiful purple Cub and a Cub wannabe at the end. PaulL
Neat parade, but one of those don't belong. Happy New Year.
Hard to believe it is 82 years old. Any new tractor now will have been melted down and made into another new tractor 3 times over!
Almost hate I sold it. But it went to a good home. Guy gonna use it to bush hog.
Nobody's throwing candy? That's it! I'm taking my lawn chair & going home. ;v) :vD Great video! I didn't notice that the mower on the purple Cub was painted to match. Looks sharp. Regards!
Get your owners manual!

Worked my ass off for 3 cents a bale in 72
700 bale day $21 x5 that was more than I made being shot at.
Are running on 2 cylinders only, tractor sounds terrible?
The grass your mowing is too short, the grass left over should be about the height your practicing on.
He sure looks happy! Good job.
Seventeen DAYS????? I can't redo a lawnmower in that amount of time. It's a good thing that shirt doesn't have buttons, they'd all be popped off by now. With good reason. Nice!
My dream Cub (1957) There is just something so cute about them white grills. 😍
I love this style farmall! We have a 230 here and love it. Our cub is from '48 though, I think. Its grille was painted white as long as my grandaddy had it, but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be red...like the front wheels that everyone paints silver.
The tractor Doctor saves another one! Very nice.
I would love to find one around here..nice!
